Our magical kingdom in Canggu was just that– a kingdom. We had a gorgeous villa with a sky-high bed and cascading white, sheer netting all around it. The room had a huge circular bath tub (that we used both nights) and the whole place was very spacious and grand. It’s called the Kalapa Resort and Spa and it’s about just 5 minutes from the beach by car. They even offer a complimentary shuttle service to the city center and to the beach— so nice! Every place we went to (except for Nusa Lembongan) had gnarly traffic and crazy driving so we were hesitant to rent a scooter, so the complimentary shuttle service was definitely a plus for us.
This resort was definitely the most “boutique-y” hotel we stayed at in Bali. It was very quiet, calm, and simple. There was no “restaurant” besides the breakfast area where they had a small kitchen in the back with 1 or 2 people staffed. The staff in general were so so sweet, and we had a great stay there.
When we first arrived to the hotel it was DUMPING rain…. I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen rain come down that much and that hard! We checked in, then chilled in our villa for a couple hours before hitting the beach town for dinner and a sunset walk. When we came back, we drew a nice bath and enjoyed our little palace of a room. Then we repeated the same routine the next day 😉
